朱迪·惠特克,爱德华·霍格,爱丽丝·洛维,布雷特·戈尔茨坦,Rachael Deering,洛琳·艾什本,伊莲恩·戴维斯ある日、沖縄の海に奇怪な生物が現れた。オニヒトデを思わせる「それ」は毒液で漁師を負傷させ、瞬く間に日本全域に広がった。それは伝説のニライカナイの古代文明が環境汚染の解決の為の生体浄化システムとして生み出したが、暴走したために結果としてニライカナイの滅亡の一因となった怪獣ダガーラの復活の前兆であった。 エリアス姉妹は地球の危機を察知して石垣島へ飛ぶと、そこにはニライカナイから来た小生物ゴーゴが出現し、その尾の装飾リングから宝がある事を悟った本土からの密猟者と、ゴーゴを保護した地元の少女たちがいた。エリアス姉妹は「ニライカナイの遺跡にはダガーラを倒す秘宝がある」という伝説を知っていた。少女たちとエリアス姉妹、そして姉妹と対立する黒い妖精ベルベラと密猟者はそれぞれ組んで海へ出る。 ゴーゴの手引きでニライカナイの遺跡であるピラミッドが海から出現した。だが、宝捜しをしている頃、石垣島にダガーラが上陸し暴れ出したため、エリアス姉妹はモスラを召喚して戦いを挑む。ダガーラとモスラは石垣島から西表島まで空中戦を繰り広げ、遺跡のピラミッド付近で海中戦となり、モスラは海での戦いを得意とするダガーラに海に引きずり込まれた。そしてダガーラは「それ」 = 無数のベーレムをモスラに取り付かせ、モスラは戦闘不能に陥った。エリアスは必死にモスラに取り付いたベーレムを剥がそうと試みるが、あまりにも沢山付いているため、全くきりがない。絶体絶命のピンチに陥ったモスラ、宝の発見は急務となった。 遺跡の中のトラップをくぐり抜けた少女たちと密猟者は、辿りついたホールでニライカナイの王女の立体映像から「ゴーゴが宝の主として少女 = 汐里を選んだ」事を告げられる。だが、ダガーラはピラミッドを襲撃してきた! 崩壊するピラミッドの最中、モスラはゴーゴの「命の水」の力により、取り付いたベーレムは取り払われ、さらにレインボーモスラとなってパワーアップし、再びダガーラと再戦する。さっきまでの状況とは一変し、今度はモスラが優位に立った。ダガーラが再び海中に潜った時、モスラはアクアモスラに変身し、戦いの舞台は、海底に移った。ダガーラの攻撃をバリアーでガードし、ダガーラに強力な攻撃を与えるモスラ。さらに分身モードとなり、ダガーラの体内から、ベーレムを倒しながら攻撃し、遂にダガーラは倒れ、その後、ピラミッドと共に消滅。モスラも海から出てきた後、元の姿のレインボーモスラに戻り、インファント島に帰って行き、危機は去ったのであった。

Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
